Mission Statement

The Saturdad Project (My Saturdad Books, The Saturdad Podcast, Resources) was developed with the goal of supporting families, particularly children, through the difficult transition of parental separation. All content has been created to be family-focused and beneficial; especially for children who may be affected by separation. The intention of the project is to help reduce the emotional and psychological stress of separation by fostering healthy communication and positive engagement between both parents, as well as individual resilience. The project has focussed primarily on nurturing the relationship between children and their fathers as fatherlessness has been proven to lead to negative long-term outcomes for children.

The Saturdad Project will always take an approach that supports the wellbeing of children and encourages balanced, equitable involvement from both parents, regardless of gender. It will always emphasise the importance of both parents being actively engaged in the process.

The Saturdad Project aims to create a positive vision of masculinity that all people, regardless of gender can support in order to rebuild and strengthen boys and their fathers.

The Saturdad Project is committed to working collaboratively with mental health professionals to ensure any content shared is safe and clinically valid.
